Continuing from the last series of posts on Capturing Ideas on the Go, More - Capturing Ideas on the Go, here is the next in the series and I’m taking a look at the Palm Treo.

I have used this at work, before upgrading (or downgrading) to the RIM BlackBerry.

I really liked the Treo.  It was a bit bulky, but it comes with a touch-sensitive screen plus all the applications you need to get the job done.  Since it also doubles as a phone, it’s like being able to take the office with you.

I am able to visit websites, plus keep notes, take pictures with it without problems.  Connectivity to my PC means I can sync documents and download what I need

I can also receive e-mail from all providers that I use, or just read my e-mail online.

Here are some features of the Palm Treo:

 I really like this one, but switched to the RIM BlackBerry 8300 so that I could get the benefit of “push” e-mail services; meaning that I didn’t need to check my corporate e-mail or personal mail — it would get pushed to me.

Another great product, you can get for a steal if your wireless provider has this device.  If you are willing to sign-up for a long-term contract then you can get it (probably) for free or small upfront cost.  Problem with these phones is that you need to subscribe to data plans that can run you up to $100 per month. 

In Canada, where there is very little competition one of these for personal use may not be the way to go.  But in the US where there is more competition and data plans vary this might be something worth looking at.

2. HP iPAQ 510 smart phone
3. HP iPAQ HX2790

Of course, there are many more out there all ranging in price.  I’m partial towards HP as I’ve used a Pocket PC for about 5 years now and really like it.
